PAST TO TODAY İDO
1987
İDO started its operations with 2 sea buses with a capacity of 449 passengers within the structure of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). The number of its sea buses reached 14 in 1996.
1997
İDO started vehicle transportation upon the construction of the fast ferries called Cezayirli Hasan Paşa and Turgut Reis 1 – with a capacity of 490 passengers and 94 vehicles – and Adnan Menderes and Turgut Özal – with a capacity of 800 passengers and 200 vehicles.
2004
Purchasing 2 fast ferries with a capacity of 558 passengers and 112 vehicles, namely Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Fatih Sultan Mehmet, İDO started its operations on the Pendik–Yalova line.
2005
In March, the management of Şehir Hatları, an affiliate of TDI (Turkey Maritime Organisation), was transferred to İDO together with the ferries and the piers.
2007
In April, the fast ferry called Osman Gazi 1 with a capacity of 225 vehicles and 1200 passengers joined the İDO fleet and started to operate on the Yenikapı–Bursa line.
2008
In December 2007, Suhulet Conventional Ferry joined the İDO fleet. Upon the inclusion of other 3 conventional ferries, which are called Sultanahmet, Sahilbent and Sadabat, in the fleet within the following year, the four ferries started to operate on the Harem–Sirkeci line.
The vessels Kanuni Sultan Süleyman and Yavuz Sultan Selim 1 operating on the Yenikapı–Yalova line joined the fleet and started their operations.
2010
In September, 34 passenger ferries and 49 piers were transferred to Şehir Hatları A.Ş., an affiliate company of IMM.
In November, İDO was granted the National Quality Award.
2011
In June, İDO was privatised and TASS joint venture (Tepe–Akfes–Souter–Sera) took over the management.
2013
In June, İDOTV started to broadcast.
2015
In November, İDO started the Ro-Ro operations on the Ambarlı–Topçular line.
In July, the İDO Mobile application was implemented.
2016
In March, İDO implemented the E-Ticket application. Opening the Tuzla Terminal in March, İDO started its services on the Tuzla–Yalova line.
In July, İDO started to operate Beşiktaş and Avcılar–Marmara–Avşa Island trips.
In August, İDO Annual Report 2015 obtained three awards at the “LACP 2015 Vision Awards”.
In September, İDO was awarded in the Coastwise Line Ro-Ro Transportation Category at the 11th International Golden Anchor Maritime Achievement Awards.
In October, İDO Annual Report 2015 was granted the Silver Award at the Stevie International Business Awards.
In November, the company’s E-Ticket application received “The Innovation Project of the Year” award in Maritime Passenger Transportation.
2017
During the Second Economy and Logistics Summit, İDO’s Ro-Ro line was awarded the “Year’s Logistic-Friendly Organisation” at the Year’s Logistics Achievement Awards.
İDO Annual Report 2016 received 6 awards in total, including 4 golden awards, at the most reputable and prestigious competitions in the global business world.
2018
The company’s Annual Report 2017 was granted awards in 6 different categories at Red Dot, one of the most prestigious awards in terms of design; ARC Awards, which is regarded as the “Annual Report Oscar Awards”; the League of American Communication Professionals (LACP), one of the most respected communication platforms; and Stevie Awards, one of the most notable awards programs in the global business world.
